Then one appeared 1.5 hours drive from Gotheburg near to Sweden’s largest lake. I figured why not go and visit, its close enough that I can do a day trip, and worst case, the dog gets a nice run through some open land.
It’s a super easy drive from my place, straight up the E45 and then inland for 15km. The land itself was not at all what I was expecting. Swedish land typically seems to be a lot of flat pasture land with tall trees. This was diverse, rocky, and had recently been cleared of a lot of the timber. I liked it, and I really liked this secluded section I found with a old stone wall. That captured my imagination.
I called into the lovely harbour and had a drink on the public benches looking out over the water.
I then headed into the local town, Brålanda to walk around and enjoyed the little town’s vibe.
I left unsure if i’d progress, but interested.
