Hiking the Machame Route to Kilimanjaro's summit

Turning 42 on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, I hiked the Machame route from Machame Gate to Uhuru Peak, and down to Mweke Gate.

Machame Route

Climbing Kilimanjaro through the Machame route can be done in six days. I travelled with G Adventures and their incredible team were the reason I reached the summit. Each day offers unique challenges and perspectives. My trip included turning 42 on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, before I reached Uhuru Peak and had high altitude birthday cake and did something of a mountain strip-tease on the final ascent.
